Modern office worker Lin Chuan, burning the midnight oil for overtime, accidentally triggers his family heirloom necklace—unlocking the power to travel between two worlds. He tumbles into the Great Jing Dynasty, a land ravaged by famine, and saves Xiao Rou, a kind and virtuous girl on the brink of starvation, with the last bucket of instant noodles in his bag. To repay his kindness, Xiao Rou insists on marrying him. Lin brings her back to the modern world, teaching her to use smartphones and eat hot pot, and the two gradually fall for each other. A fortune-building plan using the gap between the two worlds soon takes off: modern snacks for ancient gold, ancient silk and wild ginseng sold to modern auction houses. But just as their business booms, a greedy gentry in the ancient world suspects his "immortal powers" and plans to arrest him. Worse, the necklace starts to burn hot, as if it might lose its power anytime... Will Lin's dual-world dream shatter in an instant?
