Lin Hao, unemployed for three months, carried his computer to the park every day to 'pretend to work' to avoid his parents' pressure to get married and find a job. Unexpectedly, he triggered the 'Pretend to Work System'—completing 'work behaviors' like writing plans or calling 'virtual colleagues' earns him cash and unlocks skills. At first, he thought it was a scam until ten thousand yuan arrived in his account and he learned marketing skills. He used the system's money to rent a co-working space to 'pretend' to be a professional, but when he helped the neighboring startup solve marketing problems, he realized he already had real work abilities. When the system issued the ultimate task: 'Exchange pretend experiences for a real life', Lin Hao understood—those 'pretending to work' days were the start of him regaining confidence and finding his life direction.
