Chen Shun, a blind masseur, lives with his daughter Xiaotang. One day, Xiaotang is abducted by gangsters. A neighbor says she saw Xiaotang dragged into an abandoned factory—though blind, Chen is a retired scout with intact sound-location skills. He holds his cane and gropes his way there. The gangsters mock him as a "blind man asking for trouble," but in the next second, Chen kicks the first thug rushing over using footsteps to judge. One by one, the thugs are knocked down. When the leader pulls a knife to stab him, Chen remembers Xiaotang's "Daddy" and snatches the knife, pinning the leader down. When he touches Xiaotang's trembling hand, he cries: "Don't be afraid, Daddy's here." When the police arrive, all gangsters are on the ground, and the father and daughter hug tightly, tears streaming down.
