A fugitive named Ming, hunted by enemies to the point of near-death, stumbles into a remote mountain village and meets the kind village girl Hua. Despite her family’s opposition, Hua saves Ming and nurses him back to health over three months; her pure, caring gaze melts the ice on Ming’s long-wounded heart. When Ming recovers, he plans to leave quietly, but discovers Hua is forced by her parents to marry an old man to pay off debts. He no longer hesitates: he will fight back against his enemies, rescue Hua from the quagmire, and keep his unspoken vow to marry her.
