Lin Chuan is a "sweeping monk" hiding in a community billiards hall. His wife Su Xiao was resented by a gang years ago for refusing a gambling game. Now the gang has come to force her to "pay debts". To protect his wife, Lin Chuan enters the game as a "substitute player", originally wanting to end it quickly. All the thugs are instantly scared out of their wits—so the "Billiards Yama" who overthrew the gang's gambling game years ago is this mild-mannered middle-aged man?
