Lin Xiaoman’s “good-for-nothing dad” passed away suddenly, leaving only a run-down breakfast shop that’s been open for ten years and an old phone that freezes constantly—surprisingly, the phone hides a “Dad’s Wish System”! She has to fulfill three “capricious tasks” Dad never mentioned: make a candied hawthorn sweet enough to make people cry, help Old Zhou’s “30-year-old virgin” grandson find love, and have a relationship “without compromising herself”. While complaining that her dad “still troubles her even after death”, Xiaoman is forced to start her “social-death逆袭 (counterattack)”: she turns into a mess frying candied hawthorn, messes up blind dates for others, and even meets Gu Yan, a sarcastic food blogger who criticizes her shop as “worse than a street stall”. Gradually, she realizes that Gu Yan’s appearance and the system’s hints are all “gentle traps” Dad set long ago—turns out Dad’s wishes were never demands; he just wanted her to know: even without him, she can make her life as sweet as candied hawthorn, shining brightly.
