Weightlifter Lin Xiaoqiang carries his village's Olympic dreams until a crippling injury threatens his career. Defying doctors' orders, he takes painkillers and steps onto the platform. As barbell weights shatter records, blood seeps through his bandages. For his final lift, he locks eyes with his wheelchair-bound mentor in the stands and roars while hoisting an impossible weight - collapsing as the weights hit the floor. Receiving his gold medal on a stretcher with oxygen mask, he whispers to cameras: 'Tell my village... I made China proud.'
