A poor young man gives up his precious ferry ticket to help an injured fellow villager, being mocked as "silly" by the whole village. After years of striving outside, he returns to the backward fishing village with the belief of "integrity first". Facing the suppression of old forces at the dock and villagers' confusion, he breaks outdated rules with practical business skills, leading fishermen to standardize operations and explore markets. With the seeds of kindness he planted initially, he finally lifts the whole village out of poverty, rewriting his and neighbors' fates and surprising those who once laughed at him.
