Lan Yuan, a young metaphysics master who scorns the idea of "ghosts appearing", is forced to face the impossible when her naive grandson Lin Xiaochuan mistakenly worships their great-grandma's tomb. That night, the great-grandma's spirit—clad in a blue cotton shirt and holding a tobacco pipe—suddenly shows up, demanding they solve the mystery of her sect's destruction a century ago. Lan Yuan tries to brush it off, but they soon get tangled in bizarre cases: a cheongsam-clad female corpse in a Republic of China-era mansion, paper figures singing in the midnight alley, and half an old sect deed hidden in her cherished tobacco pipe... Clues point to the "Spirit-Gathering Jade" the sect fought over, yet the great-grandma suddenly says, "The jade is fake." When the grandson's innocence breaks through Lan Yuan's coldness, they realize: what the great-grandma truly seeks isn't the truth—it's to fulfill her master's last wish: to bring all scattered sect descendants "home."
