Lin Xiaoman reunited with her college first love Shen Yu'an, who promised her a "9-to-5 slack-off job". However, after joining, she's bound to the "Immortals' Urban Adaptation System" as a "social death observer"—tasked with recording gods' embarrassing moments like adding 10 packs of sugar to milk tea or forgetting to lock shared bikes. Failing means turning into a koi that can only blow bubbles! When she catches Shen is the system's "task bait", she angrily reports his "drunken cosplay of Chang'e flying to the moon" to the Immortal Administration—only to learn Shen has known for 300 years she's the "Spiritual Carrier" the system searched for. He tricked her here to protect her from villains! As the "report" becomes a "love trick", Shen smiles: "Xiaoman, can I make up for the slack-off job with a lifetime?"
