A young agronomy graduate accidentally rescues an ancient earthen jar from under an excavator during a rainstorm, only to discover it holds an unknown rice seed suppressed by a multinational seed giant 40 years ago. To fulfill his grandfather’s wish and break the giant’s domestic seed monopoly, he brings his elderly grandfather back to the brick wasteland. Facing fund shortages and technical blockades, they start from scratch to breed improved rice seeds, ultimately achieving a counterattack in the seed industry and safeguarding the country’s grain hope against the giant.
