The North River town has a legend that koi can grant wishes, but no one has ever seen it. Introverted illustrator Lin Xiaoyu comes to North River for inspiration and meets the mysterious B&B owner Lu Chuan. When Lin accidentally photographs the legendary koi in the lake, Lu's behavior turns peculiar. As they unravel the koi's secret together, a century-old pact of guardianship and sacrifice emerges. When Lin discovers she's the one the koi has been waiting for, she must choose between her wish and Lu Chuan's destiny.
