A veteran braised chef, Old Chen, is betrayed by his long-time partner Zhou Ming, who colludes with outsiders to embezzle all his savings and kick him out of his well-run braised shop. With only 10,000 yuan left, he buys a run-down workshop no one values. Relying on his secret braised recipe and innovative tweaks, his shop becomes a neighborhood hit in three months, forcing Zhou Ming’s store to lose all customers, close down, and finally kneel to beg for mercy publicly.
