An unknown meteorite is excavated from under Arctic ice, housing an alien organism that can alter human DNA, triggering the secret "Project Zero" aiming to forcibly rewrite global species' genes for control. Lin Ye, a young research assistant in the project, accidentally finds the organism fuses with him—he is not altered, instead unlocking the ability to suppress gene rewriting.
