Rural guy Lin Chuan came to the city to work in a small restaurant to raise money for his mother's medical bills. He was often bullied by colleagues and customers because of his shabby clothes, even having to chop vegetables in the back kitchen. Until one night, CEO Su Wanning, who worked overtime until late, stumbled into the restaurant. Starving, she tasted Lin Chuan's secret zha jiang mian—passed down from his grandmother. The rich sauce mixed with wheat aroma hit her instantly—it was the taste she hadn't had in ten years, the last meal her grandmother made before passing away. Su Wanning grabbed Lin Chuan who was leaving, slapped a black card on the table: “Marry me right away. I'll cure your mom and make you the head chef of my restaurant chain!” Lin Chuan froze, not seeing Su Wanning's trembling hands hidden under her suit cuffs—she'd been looking for this bowl of noodles for ten years, not for the taste, but for someone who could make her “be a child again.”
