In the poetry-lacking Great Yan Dynasty of another world, Chu Ge, a dissolute noble son, is a laughingstock for repeated exam failures. Until he accidentally finds a dusty copy of *Three Hundred Tang Poems*—this ancient Chinese poetry collection becomes his key to counterattack. Facing a life-or-death poetry imperial exam, he stuns the crowd by reciting immortal Tang verses, but draws suspicion from conservative dignitaries. Hiding his otherworld secret, he climbs to the top of the poetic world, overcomes obstacles with wit, and finally becomes the revered poetry-saint prodigal in the otherworld.
