Lin Shen, a terminally ill patient declared incurable by all doctors, had already given up treatment and was waiting for death on the hospital bed. Until a charity visit for children organized by the hospital, he met Niannian, a 3-year-old little girl who seemed to be surrounded by supernatural good luck. Niannian became the light in his life: the water cup she knocked over happened to put out the smoldering cigarette under the bedside table; her childlike words unexpectedly convinced the doctor to adjust the rejected new drug treatment plan, pulling Lin Shen back from the gate of hell again and again. Behind a series of miracles, Niannian's mysterious identity gradually becomes clear, Lin Shen re-understands the weight of life, and their bond is rewriting an ending destined by fate.
