Lao Zhou, a migrant construction worker, worked hard for half a year but was denied all wages by a malicious contractor. After repeated futile attempts to claim his pay, he accidentally gains X-ray vision that lets him see through objects. He soon discovers hidden safety hazards from shoddy construction materials and that the contractor uses unpaid wages to cover up major engineering fraud. Initially wanting only his money back, Lao Zhou stands up for justice, retrieves his wages, and protects his fellow workers' lives.
