Until she finds an old device engraved with "Life Controller" that lets her see everyone's "value fluctuation line"—a tycoon's assets are disappearing, an elderly neighbor is being scammed, and even her own "emotional value" is falling. She uses the device to solve crises for others, regaining money and respect, but realizes the most important thing to "control" is her numb heart: when value can be quantified, does she want to be a "high-value tool" or go back to being the Lin Xiaoman who stops for stray cats and queues for milk tea?
