Lin Xia, a white-collar working in the city, rents an apartment in the old town. She notices an old stone in the downstairs flower bed making faint noises at night. The elderly neighbor Mr. Chen, living alone, gets nervous whenever Xia approaches the stone, repeatedly murmuring "Don't touch that stone". Curious, Xia secretly moves the stone when Chen is out, finding a yellowed old diary under it that belongs to Chen's daughter who passed away 30 years ago. Under the stone lies a promise Chen failed to keep decades ago, and a warm yet regretful secret guarded by neighbors for years.
