Social phobic cartoonist Lin Xiaoman hides in an alley to escape deadline pressure and accidentally saves Gu Ye, the infamous "Black Street Wolf King"—rumored to be as ruthless as a feral dog. But when he wakes up, he gives her the same wet-eyed look as the stray dog she fed years ago! He volunteers to be her "life assistant": wrapping her in his suit to hide from her editor, holding a nightlight while she struggles to draw, and even crouching by the sofa with a pencil: "Xiaoman, want me to fetch this for you?" When Lin Xiaoman notices Gu Ye's waist scar matches the wound of the stray she named "Little Wolf," she grabs his wrist and steps back: "Don't wag your tail at me—I'm scared you're not human." Gu Ye leans in, his voice hoarse: "Then touch me—see if I'm the 'Little Wolf' you raised."
