When war erupts on the northern border of the Great Cang Kingdom, General Lin Xiao—an old soldier with a recurring old wound— is forced by the court to lead troops despite being bedridden. Seventeen-year-old Lin Wantang, watching her father cough up blood, resolutely disguises herself as a man to take his place as the "Young General Lin". She not only endures harsh military training but also evades repeated tests from Shen Lie, the son of the military commander—who seems to suspect her secret. Worse still, the mysterious scout who saves her on the battlefield is Gu Zhao, a hostage prince from the enemy state. When an enemy spy’s knife presses against her throat, when Shen Lie discovers her bound chest, and when Gu Zhao’s token hints at treason, can this girl—clinging to the执念 of "surviving for her father"—save her father’s life in the chaos of war and find her true heart amid lies?
