Lin Wan, a young girl from the embroidery workshop in Canglong Town, has a father who is a retired soldier. However, her father is forcibly conscripted due to the court's recheck of military registers—if the bedridden, gravely ill father goes to the battlefield, he will surely die. Lin Wan grits her teeth, cuts off her waist-length hair, and joins the army under the alias 'Lin Xiaolang' to take her father's place. Unexpectedly, she runs into the stern General Gu Zhao of Zhenxi—who saved her from bandits three years ago—right after entering the camp. Suspicion from her comrades, life-and-death tests on the battlefield, and Gu Zhao's growing affection... Lin Wan hides her identity as a woman while shouldering the promise of 'defending the land for her father' with her fragile shoulders. But when Gu Zhao discovers her secret, a choice between loyalty and love has just begun.
