Female journalist Su Wan approaches Gu Tingchuan, a real estate tycoon and her late sister’s ex-fiancé, to investigate her sister’s mysterious death. She strikes a deal with Gu using “helping take down his business rivals” as bait, and intentionally lures him into obsession: sending him home drunk at night, revealing her vulnerable past, even shielding him from danger. Gu goes from being guarded to falling for her, but just as he’s about to confess, Su Wan presents “evidence” linking him to her sister’s death.
