Lin Xiaoman, a career woman, returns to her hometown after her grandmother's death. While sorting through old items, she finds her high school band's memorial album—ten years ago, she quit abruptly for a college recommendation, breaking up the band before the final and cutting ties with lead singer Chen Mo. But in her grandmother's old chest, she discovers a guitar carved with "Xiaoman" and an unsent love letter from Chen Mo dated 2013: "I’ve saved a whole box of performance videos, waiting for you to come back and watch them with me." Just then, the doorbell rings. Chen Mo stands outside holding the band's old championship banner, with their former teammates behind him holding glow sticks—turns out they've been hosting an "unfinished concert" at their alma mater every year, waiting for their "missing keyboardist."
