Marine ecology master’s graduate Lin Wan quits her urban job to return to her southern Fujian hometown, a small town nestled by the intertidal zone, to handle her father’s funeral. While digging on the exposed tidal flat during low tide, she stumbles upon her father’s encrypted diary and a half-piece of glowing coral specimen. As the tides rise and fall each day, she pieces together the hidden truth behind her father’s mysterious disappearance a decade ago. She also reunites with her childhood sweetheart she lost touch with years prior. Caught between her family’s buried secrets and the fierce conflict between local fishermen and environmental groups, Lin Wan is trapped in the narrow space between tides, forced to confront the decade-old truth and her own inner confusion.
