Unemployed liberal arts graduate Lin Xiaoman takes a high-paying job as a caregiver for disabled CEO Gu Jingshen to pay her brother's tuition—Gu is notorious for his icy demeanor, never smiling at anyone from his wheelchair. But Lin's "carefree chaos" breaks through his shell: she hands him sweet soybean milk instead of black coffee for breakfast, laughing so hard she slaps her leg while crouching beside his wheelchair; when he falls during late-night rehab, she gets up, makes a funny face, and says, "I'm worse off than you." When a power struggle in Gu's company unfolds and Lin is framed as "having an agenda," she doesn't run—she stands at a press conference with collected evidence, smiling at the cameras: "His leg was injured saving an employee, his coldness is a shell to protect himself, and I insist on being his light." Gu Jingshen, in his wheelchair, takes her hand for the first time with red eyes: "You've always been my light."
