At 16, Lin Shen left home over a misunderstanding that his mother Li Guilan “blocked his education”. Li Guilan struggled alone selling breakfast on the street to support him. Ten years later, Lin Shen becomes a CEO but learns his mother has suffered a stroke. Returning home, he discovers his mother once sold blood to pay his tuition and now secretly mortgaged their old house to avoid burdening him. Pretending to be bankrupt, Lin Shen “leeches” on his mother—relearning to make her signature soybean milk and accompanying her to rehab. When he launches the “Guilan Breakfast” chain to make her craft famous, they resolve the old misunderstanding: Li Guilan hid his admission letter to stop him from quitting college for work. As they hug crying in front of the breakfast stall, they realize the deepest grace is “I want to walk with you slowly”.
