A modern office worker accidentally travels to ancient times and becomes a debt-ridden loser. When at his wit's end, he gains huge profits with an improved modern pickled fish recipe. Jealous peers repeatedly plot against him, but he foils all their schemes. When his business booms, a mysterious businessman comes to seek cooperation. What seems like a win-win opportunity hides a conspiracy—not only does he covet the pickled fish recipe, but it also ties to the protagonist's huge debt before time travel, and a contest of wealth, conspiracy and trust begins.
