In early Republican China, architect Cheng Xueqing returns from abroad to restore a centuries-old library in a Jiangnan watertown, fulfilling her late father's wish. She stumbles upon clues to a lost imperial treasure and clashes with Lu Nanlou, the tea merchant's son guarding the library. As warlords and antiquities hunters close in, the two must decipher the building's mysteries before spring thaws the last snow, their animosity slowly turning into an unexpected romance.
