But as they interact, Gu Shen discovers that the cherry tree is the “soul centerpiece” of Su Wan's hidden design; Su Wan also learns that Gu Shen isn't just protecting a tree, but a promise to his grandma: “Let the cherry blossoms bloom for more people every year.” When the developer tries to cut the tree down overnight, they team up, using cherry branches collected over half a month to make light strings, turning the old tree into a glowing “spring lighthouse” that draws crowds to stop the destruction.
