In Zhouzhuang, a Jiangnan water town, Su Wanchou spent seven years steeping her obsession with Lin Shen into tea dregs—he once stood at Nanhu Wharf saying "Wait for me half a year" but vanished into the ferry's fog. Until a cold rainy day before Qingming, Lin Shen burst into her "Guixu Teahouse" in an old windbreaker, clutching the ebony tea scoop she gave him: "I'm here to pay the tea debt from years ago." The truth: he was forced abroad to settle her father's massive gambling debts, and now he's back with a late-stage gastric cancer diagnosis—only to find she'd erased "Lin Shen" from her tea menu and replaced it with "stranger". Under the old peach tree behind the teahouse, the silver bracelet she'd hidden for seven years, the diagnosis in his pocket, and the unopened love letter in the tea cake all reveal: those words of "love and hate fading" are just unhealed wounds too painful to touch.
