Beneath the red walls of old Beijing lies Guixu Bookstore, where Lin Wan, a young girl, has waited ten springs for Gu Zhao—the boy who borrowed her hand-painted umbrella a decade ago and promised, "I’ll return next spring when it snows." This year, as the first spring snow falls, Gu Zhao finally appears—but with his fiancée to pick a wedding gift, and he acts as if he doesn’t recognize Lin Wan. When Lin Wan finds Gu Zhao’s old medical report in the umbrella cover, she learns he had a terminal illness back then and vanished to avoid burdening her. Little does she know, Gu Zhao has secretly come to the red walls every spring snow, gazing at the bookstore’s light before leaving. Can this ten-year-late spring snow bring the two missed souls together under the red walls, to fulfill the confession they never got to make?
