A village by the lake has been protected by a lake-guard python for generations, avoiding disasters and gaining treasures from the lake. Driven by greed, the villagers conspired to poison and attack the python, thinking they could take all the treasures for themselves by driving it away. The saintess who shared a deep bond with the python was utterly heartbroken and left the village with the giant snake.
