Su Xiao, an office worker, saves a fainting Aunt Zhou on her way home from overtime, mistaking her for a lost elder and bringing her home. She makes ginger tea for her, helps her win a square dance competition, and even rants about her boyfriend Chen Mo being a "straight man with no romance". Little does she know, Aunt Zhou is Chen Mo's mother! Zhou Xiufen hid her identity to test her future daughter-in-law, but was touched by Su Xiao's sincerity. When Su Xiao finds out her "godmother" is actually her future mother-in-law and tries to flee in embarrassment, Zhou hugs her and laughs: "I already see you as my own daughter! If Chen Mo dares to hurt you, I'll beat him first!" This mix-up turns "mother-in-law and daughter-in-law" into "mother and daughter" first, leaving the boyfriend as a helpless "outsider"?
