Lin Chuan, a useless member of a modern go club, accidentally travels to an immortal world where status is determined by "Spirit Chess". He binds to the "Grand Master System"—winning games unlocks cultivation abilities. But he's immediately labeled a "fake chessman" and offends Su Wanqing, the cold, proud daughter of a chess noble family. To survive, Lin uses modern go techniques like "star point opening" and "ko fight" to challenge the world's "Spirit Array Chess", rising from a spit-on nobody to the "Grand Master" who can break spirit arrays and decide national fate with chess. The journey is full of laughs: tricking villains out of magic weapons with "double swallows", saving Su's life with "backward escape", even ending a war with a "couple's game". He and Su go from mutual dislike to sweet romance. Most importantly, the system hides a secret about the "origin of chess path", and his time travel may be no accident...
