Centenarian Shen Guilan takes her granddaughter's place in the army to clean up the latter's runaway mess. Mocked as a dotard for her age, she is assigned the dirtiest odd jobs and ostracized by young soldiers. When northern barbarian hordes break the defense line, she accidentally awakens her century-slumbered power as the national war god. Her identity as the war god who hid to guard the country is exposed; she single-handedly crushes the enemy formation, making the entire Northern Border army kneel before her. This also uncovers a three-generational national bond and an unexpected romantic entanglement.
