Taoist Wuyang lives a lazy life in a leaky old temple, until he saves Su Wanning—the gravely injured prime minister's daughter who fell off a cliff—and gets dragged into a two-lifetime conspiracy. Su Wanning is actually the Lingxi Princess of the demon realm, who swore a blood oath with him in a past life. The one who massacred her clan and forced her reincarnation? It's the so-called "Holy Master of Xuanmen" plotting to unseal the ancient Demon Emperor! Wuyang originally wanted to be a "lazy Taoist" forever, but when he sees Su Wanning take a sword for him and jump into a lake to find him, the divine warrior power sealed in his body for a thousand years gradually awakens. Between the person he'd risk his life to protect and the plot he'd die to break, when past-life memories flood in, he finally understands: his Taoist name "Wuyang" was never about "no troubles"—it's a vow: "I will keep you safe for a lifetime."
