Retired teacher Zhang Guilan and retired engineer Zhou Jianye meet at a community senior university, bonding over their shared love of classical poetry and deciding to spend their golden years together. However, their children oppose the relationship with hidden agendas: Zhang's son wants to seize Zhou's demolition compensation apartment, while Zhou's daughter worries her father's pension will be diverted, spreading rumors that Zhang is only after his money and even rallying relatives to stir up trouble. The couple fights back, gathers evidence, exposes their kids' greedy and hypocritical true intentions publicly, and finally registers their marriage to embrace a happy late-life romance.
