Modern office worker Lin Hao accidentally travels back to 1973 and encounters his future mother-in-law Su Xiaomei in her youth—she’s just been scammed out of all savings by her scumbag fiancé Chen Jianguo, labeled a “husband-killer” by his family, and forced to marry an old bachelor to pay debts. Lin Hao realizes: if Su Xiaomei collapses, his girlfriend Xiaotang in the future will vanish! He uses modern ideas to break the deadlock: helping Su open a tailor shop to earn her first pot of gold, exposing Chen’s fake “overseas relations” scam, even pushing the production team to try “contract management”. But as he pulls Su out of the mire, he uncovers the secret of his time travel—the stranded educated youth Su saved back then is actually his own father?
