On New Year's Eve, Lin Hui, a single mother, takes her daughter back to her in-laws' home, only to be brutally beaten by her patriarchal in-laws and husband, and insulted as "your daughter means the family has no male heir". Years of patience break down instantly. She had planned ahead, appearing with lawyers at her husband and son's birthday banquet, presenting solid evidence that her in-laws embezzled property belonging to her and her daughter over the years, publicly demanding the whole family leave the house with nothing to take back what should belong to them. A modern drama about maternal love, dignity and counterattack unfolds.
