On New Year's Eve, Lin Wan, a rural wife oppressed by her in-laws as a "child-bearing tool", accidentally uncovers the secret that her husband's family is smuggling toxic counterfeit alcohol with the village bully. When her in-laws raise a knife to silence her, she clutches the evidence hidden in her cotton-padded jacket and runs along the icy field ridge towards the village exit—she’s not just fleeing death, but a life trampled on; what she wants to drag to hell are those evil ghosts who devour people. In the cold wind, she remembers the swollen face from her mother-in-law’s slaps and the daughter sold by her husband. This time, she will fight with her life, using the truth to deliver the harshest slap to all the scumbags.
