Su Wan, a cold female CEO, receives a "strange package" — inside lies a handsome man, Gu Jingshen, who claims to be her "customized loyal dog." He can catch her about-to-spill coffee precisely, wait for her outside the company on a rainy night in advance, and even know the childhood secret she's hidden for twenty years. When Su Wan finally loses patience and tries to kick him out, Gu Jingshen takes out a glowing contract with a smile: "My lady, I'm the nine-tailed fox you saved in a previous life, here to break your family's curse of 'unrequited love.'" As her memories resurface, Su Wan discovers that behind Gu Jingshen's "loyal dog" facade lies a scheming plan: he intends to trade his spiritual consciousness for her lifelong safety, but deliberately disguises his "sacrifice" as "acting coquettish to stay." On the day the curse is lifted, as Gu Jingshen's figure fades, his transparent hand still wipes her tears: "My lady, this time I don't want to be a guardian anymore — I want to be your 'forever.'"
