In Fuxing Compound Courtyard of the old town, elderly Granny Zhou lives with her late daughter’s relics. Her unfilial son and daughter-in-law suddenly show up, forcing her to give up the house—claiming to “take her to live comfortably”, but actually eyeing the upcoming demolition compensation. Lin Xiaoman, a newly moved-in single mom, can’t stand it and helps Granny Zhou, only to be misunderstood by neighbors as “wanting a share”: gossipy Aunt Zhang spreads rumors, quiet Uncle Li observes secretly, even Granny Zhou is wary of her.
