Office worker Lin Chuan awakens the "Nine Thousand Layers of Qi Cultivation" inheritance through a family jade pendant, unlocking abilities like clairvoyance and medical skills with each layer. However, this attracts the pursuit of the mysterious organization "Dark Xuan Gate". He discovers that his childhood sweetheart Su Xiao's father is the mastermind behind Dark Xuan Gate, and Su Xiao is kidnapped to protect him. Lin Chuan must reach the ninth layer within 72 hours—while fighting villains, he uncovers the past feud between Su's father and his grandfather: they turned against each other due to a misunderstanding over "inheritance possession", and now Dark Xuan Gate wants to use the inheritance to resurrect a world-destroying evil spirit. When Lin Chuan reaches the top layer, he realizes the true meaning of "nine thousand layers" is "saving others": he must rescue Su Xiao and pull Su's father out of hatred. Finally, he uses the ninth-layer "Great Vehicle Heart-Saving Technique" to resolve obsession, destroy the evil spirit, and protect his love.
