Lin Wan, a braised food vendor with a child from a second marriage, survives tenaciously in the urban hustle and bustle. She meets Lu Chen, a just-released veteran who took over his family's butcher business. Lu Chen, initially sympathetic to her situation of raising a child alone, is gradually moved by her optimism and falls in love with her. He dotes on her deeply: helps her resolve neighborhood rumors, accompanies her to turn her small stall into a popular shop, and the two carve out their sweet romantic path of counterattack in ordinary life, full of urban warmth and sincere affection.
