Lin Chuan, a struggling actor, takes a villain role in a suspense drama to pay for his mother’s surgery. To his horror, his too-realistic performance leads netizens to believe he’s the culprit of a recent fraud spree—right down to the “100% matching appearance and demeanor.” Even worse, he actually ends up on the police’s crime list! Suddenly, he’s swarmed by debt collectors, vengeful victims, and paparazzi. His girlfriend of three years even dumps him, sobbing that he’s “more hidden than the villain he plays.” Just as he’s drowning in public outrage, he uncovers the truth: the culprit is the crew’s prop master—the director’s brother-in-law—who stole his costume and makeup to commit crimes! Lin decides to fight fire with fire: he pretends to “confess” to lure the real criminal out, then uses the anti-investigation skills he learned from the role to record the evidence. In the end, he not only clears his name but becomes an overnight sensation for “an actor solving crimes.” He打脸 everyone who turned their backs on him and earns the title of “acting god” from audiences.
