Gu Zhao, Censor of Jing Kingdom, disguises as a tea merchant to investigate the Jiangnan Navy's collusion with enemies, boarding the "Zhulang Boat". He's drawn to A Ruan, a pipa-playing woman at the stern—her cinnabar mole matches the one on the general's daughter who saved him years ago. A Ruan seems a lowly boat courtesan, but she's actually Shen Zhaozhao, sole survivor of the massacred Zhennan General's family, hiding on the boat to gather evidence of the Navy's crimes. When Gu Zhao's clues lead to A Ruan's revenge target, and her disguise is about to be exposed, will they stand together for love or turn against each other for truth? Love and hatred on the boat will finally tear all masks apart.
