Lin Wan, a jewelry designer freshly returned from overseas, catches her fiancé colluding with gangsters to murder a witness right before their wedding—only to be framed as the killer. Desperate, she hops into Lu Chuan’s modified car by mistake—a quiet ex-special forces officer lying low on the highway to investigate his partner’s murder. Forced into a cross-city escape, they dodge追杀 while unmasking her fiancé’s true colors: hot cocoa in the midnight car, a back shielding her from a knife in the rain, a silver ring hidden in the toolbox… Danger is laced with sweetness. On the run, they’re each other’s “lifeline” and the “key” to unlocking each other’s heartaches. When the truth comes out, the former “prey” takes down the gang together—and that thorny highway becomes the wildest starting point of their love.
