During an ancient famine, Mrs. Zhang, an ordinary peasant woman, accidentally unlocks a secret channel linking ancient China and modern times. She uses the channel to fetch life-saving supplies from the modern world, but is labeled a monster by clan elders for "producing food out of thin air". To protect her family, she plays a "goddess" to hide her secret, exchanging modern grains for seeds while outwitting greedy clan members eyeing the supplies. She also meets Lin Mo, a modern youth who strayed into ancient times. Together they weather the famine, unlock inter-realm secrets, gain a time-spanning bond, and ultimately achieve a glorious counterattack across two realms.
